Burleigh Beaches are some of the best on the Gold Coast, and therefore some of the best in the world. What sets them apart from the rest of the Gold Coast is the headlands at Burleigh Heads, which gives the beaches of Burleigh a terrain that is more interesting and more accommodating to various beach activities, from world class surfing to kid friendly beaches.
A short walk from Burleigh Units is the Burleigh Heads beach with its large playgrounds, boardwalks and foreshore walking trails. This leads up into the Burleigh Heads National Park. On the other side is Tallebudgera Creek, a beatiful oasis of a place, perfect for a family day at the beach.
The are many patrolled areas around Burleigh and we strongly recommend swimming in a patrolled area.
For the surfers, Burleigh Heads offers a great point break. Further into shore it is more sheltered and the longboards can often be seen honing their skills there.
Burleigh Heads
It was a stormy day at Burleigh Heads when I took this video but it still gives you a good idea of what you can enjoy. Burleigh Beach is a great place to spend time, with the Burleigh Heads surf life saving club patrolling to keep you and your family safe, Oskars for fine dining and a beautiful beach framed by the Burleigh headland.
Tallebudgera Beach
10-15 minutes walk from Burleigh Beach is the beautiful Tallegudgera bathing area. It is patrolled by the Royal Life Saving Club. The video below explains it better than I can, courtesy of Walking The Gold Coast.
